Staff Job Families

该大学正在实施工作家庭, 对员工职位进行分类的行业标准方法. Positions will grouped by the type of work performed, such as administration, information technology or finance. 其目标是促进全校员工工资的公平, 改善员工的职业发展道路,减少招聘所需的时间.

What does this mean in practice?

Currently, 每位主管负责为所有向其汇报工作的员工撰写职位描述. 这个过程给类似职位的主管增加了额外的工作, 以及整个大学的职位描述和头衔不一致.

With the job families initiative, 标准的职位描述模板正在根据校园社区的意见进行开发. As each job family rolls out, 主管将为每个职位选择最合适的模板,并自定义部分以供其单位使用. 模板的使用将在整个校园建立一致性,并加快招聘过程.

Definitions

  • A job family 是否有一大类工作涉及相似的工作类型并需要类似的培训, skills and knowledge.
  • A job series is a series of closely related jobs within a job family, at multiple levels from entry-level to senior.

Job Family: Information Technology

Current Job Series within the Information Technology job family include:

  • Application Administrators
  • Classroom IT Analysts
  • Database Administrators
  • Network Engineers
  • Programmers
  • Technology Solutions Partners
  • etc.

Each job series may then have 具有不同技能和责任水平的多个职位. For example:

  • Technology Solution Partners job series:
    • Technology Solution Partners I
